Design Review Panel Assess Bidders Proposals The Bidders design proposals for the three new facilities have been the subject of a detailed assessment by the NHS Estates Design Review Panel. The Design Review Panel was set up by the Secretary of State for Health in November 2001. The Panel’s remit is to provide advice, guidance and support to the NHS in the form of a design review and a subsequent report, which highlights comments and makes recommendations to the Trust.
The Panel included representatives from CABE the Prince's Foundation and the Centre for Healthcare Architecture and Design. The Panel's aims are to ensure that good design is embedded within the NHS hospital building programme and the design proposals of the Bidders represent best practice. Following a presentation by each Bidder on their design proposals the Panel provided a brief verbal report on their findings to the Trusts. This will be followed by a detailed written report. Each Bidder will receive feedback on their designs and be encouraged to take into account the comments of the Panel during the final stages of the design development process. |
