Three Expressions of Interest Received

Three private sector consortia have formally expressed an interest in bidding to provide and maintain the new hospital, the mental mental health unit and the new integrated care centre.

The consortia have each submitted a detailed response to the pre-qualification questionnaire. The Project Team, supported by the project advisors, will spend the next six weeks evaluating the submissions.   Each potential bidder will be checked to ensure that have:

• The experience required to design, build and maintain the three facilities;
   

• The experience required to provide a range of non-clinical support services;
   

• The resources required to undertake a project of this size; and
   

• The financial standing to undertake the project.

By mid January 2004 the Trusts will announce the outcome of the evaluation process and which consortia have been selected to bid for the project.  This could be two, or all three of the consortia that have expressed an interest.

The three private sector consortia that have expressed an interest are:

• MediCo (Amey Ventures Ltd and Ferrovial Agroman S.A.)
   

• Progress Health (ABN Amro Bank and Multiplex Construction (UK) Ltd)
   

• Skanska Innisfree (Skanska BOT Investments UK Ltd and Innisfree Ltd)
