First Public Consultation Meeting The first public consultation meeting was held in the Peterborough Town hall on Tuesday 15 January 2002. Sixteen members of the public listened to a presentation and took part in a discussion on the proposals in the health investment plan. The issues raised by the public included;

The speakers were able to confirm that the new hospital would have
separate female and male wards. They also explained that the Health
Authority will make the final decision on the proposals in the health
investment plan.
Concern was expressed that the level of local population growth could mean we need two hospitals in Peterborough. Clarification was also sought on the running costs of the two options for the new hospital and whether there was a local problem with midwife shortages that might be eased by accommodation arrangements. |
