The tender submissions from the two consortia bidding for the PFI contract to design, build, finance and maintain the new healthcare facilities for the GPHIP were received today, 8 November 2004.

Receipt of the submissions marks the passing of another milestone in the project to modernise Peterborough's health care services and facilities. Over the next four months the submissions will be analysed in great detail before the board of directors for the three NHS trusts decide which of the two, MediCo or Progress Health, are selected for the final stage in the procurement process.

The tender evaluation process commences on 15 November with a series of stakeholder events, including a public exhibition in the Peterborough Town Hall on 16 November 2004. There will also be two staff exhibitions in the main entrances of Peterborough District Hospital and the Edith Cavell Hospital on 22 and 23 November 2004.
