Ground Condition Survey

Two teams of ground engineers have been working on the ECH site completing a survey of local ground conditions in preparation for the proposed developments on the site.

The engineers have been taking core samples down to a depth of 12 meters and digging smaller pits to test the permeability of the soil.

The survey will provide data on the local water table and flood risks on the site, together with general soil conditions.

This data will be added to existing information on the topography and geotechnical conditions of the site to provide valuable information for the structural and civil engineers who will be carrying out the detail design of the new hospital buildings.
